About Maundy Thursday
The English word "Maundy" comes from the Latin mandatum, which means "commandment."
Before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus gathered with his closest friends for a special meal, washed their feet, and gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).
Also known as “Holy Thursday”, it is the night before Jesus was crucified.

About Palm Sunday
The name, “Palm Sunday,” comes from a story in the Bible in which Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem.
Prior to this event, Jesus and his friends roamed the countryside teaching and performing miracles, gaining a lot of recognition.
The people of Jerusalem were very excited that Jesus was coming to their city to celebrate a religious festival. In their excitement, the people grabbed palm branches to wave around and threw their cloaks before Jesus on the road.
